Bobby Jindal, possibly The First Non-White Republican President in 2012? (PIOG)

I know were kind of jumping the gun but what are your thoughts on him?

This is a post I got from another non cafemom board:

Looking to the future for a moment... I started researching Bobby Jindal, governor of Louisiana, after seeing how competently he managed preparation for Hurrican Gustav. (He did AMAZING. I remember wishing he'd been governor when Katrina hit. What a difference that fiasco would have been. He was so completely in control, had a plan and executed it well, and was calm and communicative throughout. He had that tone of voice that really calms you and makes you feel like he's got it covered!)

Since then, what I've found in my research is that he's solidly conservative (100% pro-life, opposed to gay marriage, etc.), he’s intelligent, he’s articulate, and could be shaped into the Southern Ronald Reagan (or maybe the Indian Ronald Reagan ).

I heard him interviewed on Fox News tonight, and, girls, he's got it. "It" being that quality of charisma and intelligence, that ability to connect with listeners... and in America, a candidate really needs that charisma in order to have a shot. I can really see this young man as our President someday!

Just planting a seed... check him out... watch him over the next few years... if the GOP is smart, they will court and groom him for a potential future Presidential candidate.

I researched him earlier -- before McCain picked Palin. He's definetly interesting and smart.

The magazine The Catholic World Report has an article on Bobby Jindal in its October 2008 issue titled "The Jindal Special - A look at the rise and record of the Catholic governor of Louisiana" The article begins by telling how Jindal took on Obama and other pro-gun control senators after Hurricane Katrina. Jindal's bill was the only pro-gun ownership bill Obama and other Dems supported. This bill was the impetus for Obama's comment about rural whites clinging to their guns and religion. I will definitely be looking into Jindal for 2012.

I also would love to see Palin and Jindal on the ticket in 2012...I just wish it was a lot sooner!
