Nick Cannon is cast as Mariah Carey's lover in her new video -- but has the superstar diva given the young actor a considerably bigger role in real life?
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, here at a 2005 awards show, got romantically involved recently.
If the pair did indeed wed, it would be a whirlwind romance. Word that the two were seeing each other first surfaced in the last few weeks. Last Saturday, Carey was seen sporting a huge diamond ring on her finger at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her movie, "Tennessee," in which she plays a waitress. Cannon was at her side at the party. Speculation swirled that the couple were engaged.

If People is reporting it - then it IS true! She will be on Oprah this afternoon (wednesday) and she is supposed to say something about it then!

I do not think it will last, according to people.com they have only been together 6 weeks which in my opinion is nowhere near enough time to know if you want to be with someone the rest of your life

I disagree lol. My hubby and I only knew each other 2 weeks and we already knew. And we've been together almost 4 years now and still going strong. Some people just click like that.
