Justin Bieber's Diamond Ring for Selena Gomez Is Serious Business (PHOTO)

Selena Gomez's ring from Justin BieberFebruary 15 is like a holiday, too, you know. It's the day we get to find out what all the celebrities did and got and bought for Valentine's Day. Pretty much, it's Valentine's Day Two.

From what I've read so far, all seems to be kind of boring this year on the celebrity Valentine's Day front, though. Nobody did anything good. Nobody got anything awesome. Nobody's making my night of pie and Real Housewives look that lame yet. Well, almost nobody. Justin Bieber got Selena Gomez a pretty serious gift. Are you sitting down? He got her a ring.

Relax, it isn't an engagement ring. Well, most likely it isn't an engagement ring. Naturally, there's engagement ring speculation, but I seriously doubt it since the ring is a diamond-studded "J." Actually, it's really kind of cute.

As corny as it can be, I'm a fan of wearing your partner's name or initial somewhere on your body (as long as it's not in ink). It shows commitment. Remember when Brad Pitt wore a "Jen" necklace to the Emmys one year? Kind of adorable. Also, Justin's ring for Selena was a totally appropriate Valentine's Day gift -- I.E., it wasn't some ridiculously elaborate, totally ostentatious, obnoxious teenage millionaire to-do, like he's done in the past. (Renting out the Staples Center, anyone?) It was personal and ... normal (for a super rich 17-year-old).

Every time Justin drops thousands and thousands of dollars on his lady, I cringe a little bit. Not because I'm jealous (even though I totally am), because, dude, stop spending so much money on stupid crap. You're just a child. You don't know what's up. This is a good gift, though. This is something a boyfriend of mine would have gotten me in high school. Except it wouldn't have had diamonds and I wouldn't have been able to wash my hands while wearing it. And it probably wouldn't have been a ring.
