Rosie O'Donnell & Chelsea Handler’s Little People Remarks Were Completely Foul! Is it totally offensive to you? (VIDEO)
Rosie O'Donnell & Chelsea Handler’s Little People Remarks Were Completely Foul (VIDEO)
Rosie O'Donnell has had her share of controversial public moments, but the latest might just be bad enough to stick with her for a long, long time. She sat down to chat with Chelsea Handler recently on her OWN show, The Rosie Show, and she brought up the subject of little people, you know, like Chuy Bravo who appears on one of Chelsea's shows ...
Rosie told Chelsea, "I'm a little ashamed about it [but] I have a mild fear or anxiety around little people." On the flipside, Handler said that she just loooooooves them. The two entertainers went on and on about their thoughts on having sex with little people ("That would be child abuse!" said Handler) and "saving" them by giving them jobs. Whoa, whoa, whoa ... whaaaat?!
Seriously -- WTF?
It's no wonder that the Little People of America, a support group for Americans of short stature due to dwarfism, is enraged and taking both O'Donnell and Handler to task for their patronizing, completely brainless, offensive remarks. Here's the clip if you didn't catch it ...
Wow, where to even begin ... You have to wonder, what the hell were they thinking? But it just seems like they weren't. Because if they were, they might have considered how they would have felt if they were being marginalized in the same way. How would Rosie feel if someone was going on and on about their anxiety around lesbians? Would Chelsea appreciate it if a comedian was giggling about how much she just adores Jews and feels so bad for them?
It's not just crazy, but also really sad that they didn't even begin to think about any of that before diving into this completely cringe-worthy conversation. Even after they apologize -- which they will definitely have to, right? -- this is something that could and, you know what, should tarnish their reps for good.
Where do you stand on this -- is it totally offensive to you?
I was totally offended by that. They were both WAY out of line imo.
If you are in Hollywood, you are pretty much looking for exposure and you know what comes with the career choice of being in entertainment....Neither Chelsea or Rosie is exploiting anyone....I don't see anything wrong with the interview.
i can understand rosie saying she has a phobia...but all of the other mushy stuff was just them being silly...i see two comedians that may have pitched a joke that fell flat
not offended though...lol...ive heard worse
