Is Amber Portwood having prisoners remorse?
Amber was in fact sentences to 5 years in the pokey with some time served, which would probably total around 3 months.
It looks like her attorney may have asked for a lighter sentence, which is ironic because Amber turned HERSELF in saying that she wasn't abiding by the drug treatment program and that she felt jail was the only option for her.
The judge, who had cut her numerous deals prior, denied any leniency on her 5 year sentence as the whisked her off to a drug treatment based prison program. She should be released on 2017. Holy crapola.
It's rumored that Amber will be able to schedule times to see her daughter but no word on how often those visits might be or whether or not her and Gary feel like that's a situation they want to put little Leah in.
Until then, Leah will remain in the custody of her father.
A lot has changed since this night....

Do you think things would have turned out this way if she had not been on Teen Mom or was she simply a ticking time bomb, waiting to go off? Amber reports that she's been addicted to drugs since she was as young at 13.
It can't be easy having all your wrong choices aired for all to see!

I also think she was a ticking time bomb. Lots of girls go through the same things as her, except her downward spiral was televised.
She would have probably ended up behind bars regardless or not if she was on Teen Mom..although being on the show probably put a ton of more pressure on her. I actually feel sorry for Amber because you can tell that she truly has issues. I feel even more sorry for little Leah though..such a sad situation.
She's a prescription drug addict. It's not hard to miss. Sad for her little girl.
