Lindsay Lohan officially a suspect in new jewelry theft case - report
Lindsay Lohan is officially a suspect in another jewelry theft case, TMZ reports.
Both the actress and her assistant, Gavin Doyle, were reportedly interviewed -- and cleared -- by police Aug. 20 after Hollywood Hills homeowner Sam Magid reported that watches and sunglasses valued at more than $100,000 had been stolen from his home during a party.
Complicating the case is the fact that Magid allegedly later recanted his story, but TMZ reports that the police are still investigating because an independent witness claims Lohan and Doyle did steal the jewelry.
Lohan, 26, is currently serving an "informal probation" until May 2014 for stealing a necklace from a Venice, Calif., jewelry store in January 2011.
The troubled actress has waged a very public battle with drug and alcohol abuse, and has been arrested and jailed numerous times for DUI and probation violation charges. More recently, she collided with a truck while driving her Porsche on Pacific Coast Highway on June 8, and a week later she was treated by paramedics for "exhaustion and dehydration" during filming for the Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick."
