The Story Behind Matthew McConaughey's Drastic Weight Loss
While I have yet to see the movie itself, I am familiar with the ads for the recent male stripper flick, "Magic Mike". Matthew McConaughey was one of several fit Hollywood hunks featured in the film, and this is what his hot-and-bothered fans were treated to:
However, recent papparazzi shots revealed a physique that is rather shocking and very unfamiliar for the usually buff Matt:
Like many other movie goers, my first reaction was to deny that it was him. It certainly did not look like the Matthew McConaughey I know and love. My next reaction to my fellow Texan's emaciated look was, obviously, "Is he sick?" As it turns out, no. Well, I am sure he is not what any doctor would call healthy right now, but he is not dying of some rare and horrible disease. Like Christian Bale before him, McConaughey is dropping the weight (you read that correctly...he says he is not done yet!) for an upcoming role. If the history of film is anything to go by, this is one actor who can go ahead and clear a shelf for his Oscar.
I never found him handsome. I liked him with Kate Hudson on How to lose a guy in 10 days..but I never found him cute.
