LMFAO has broken up, will party rock separately from now on
Ladies and gentlemen, we regret to bring you this devastating news. We'll try to let you down gently, but you might want to have a tissue handy: party rockers LMFAO have decided to break up after more than five glorious years making "music" together.
Redfoo, the elder LMFAO-er, tells news.com.au that the band is currently on a hiatus.
"I feel like we've been doing this for so long, five or six years. And we're kind of like saying, well, let's just do what's natural and just kind of explore that, instead of like forcing it all the time," he says.
The 37-year-old is also the uncle of his bandmate, Sky Blu. Although there will be no more party rock anthems from the group, Redfoo's solo music will be similar to LMFAO's.
"All the music that I'm going to make is always going to be LMFAO-ish ... I love all the topics that we talk about," he says. "I was really passionate about bringing party music to the world, so I will always be making some kind of party music."
He's currently coming up with a theme song for the New England Patriots, so your next pre-gaming tune might be football-related. There'll surely be pro-partying messages in there somewhere, though.
