We've mentioned it before, but we'll say it again: 2012 is definitely the year of Channing Tatum.
As predicted, the magazine has unveiled a "charming, chiseled" Channing on this week's cover, which features the "Magic Mike" actor in a casual white tank and slacks.
The low-key look fits the Southern star, who at first thought People was pulling his leg.
"I play a lot of practical jokes, so my first thought was, 'Y'all are messing with me,'" he said. "I told [my wife] Jenna after we'd been in the bathtub washing our dogs because they'd gotten skunked. She was like, 'What?!'"
Yes, this sexy man is taken - he married his "Step Up" co-star Jenna Dewan in 2009.
And while his wife is enjoying her husband's rep - Channing can't quite bring himself to say it, but Jenna's taken to calling him "the Sexiest Man Alive," because who wouldn't? - she tells People that he's far more than just a ripped physique.
"People know him to be fun and sexy, but they don't know how emotionally deep and spiritually open he is," the 31-year-old actress, who recently appeared on "American Horror Story," told the magazine. "He is such an open-hearted person; what you see is what you get."
Channing, who's had a busy year with back-to-back lead roles in "The Vow," "21 Jump Street" and "Magic Mike," is now training to portray an Olympic wrestler in 2013's "Foxcatcher." And in his spare time, it sounds like he's also working on expanding his family.
"I'm ready; I think she's ready. It's more about trying to find the right time," Channing said of having kids. "The first number that pops into my head is three, but I just want one to be healthy and then we'll see where we go after that."
