Justin Bieber's Pet Monkey Confiscated by German Officials
We gotta say, considering all the naughty behavior our dear Justin Bieber has been engaging in of late, this news doesn’t sound that bad—unless of course you’re the poor monkey involved in the scenario!
PEOPLE magazine reports that German customs officials confiscated Justin’s capuchin monkey last Thursday, when the sassy singer tried to bring it into the country without permission or necessary paperwork.
The Biebs brought the little guy in on a private plane that landed in Munich. Maybe he thought since it was a private plane normal rules didn’t apply, but customs authorities are no joke! The star was detained and the monkey was taken into quarantine. Justin has been charged with a fine of $15,000 and he must also pay whatever costs the country spends on quarantining the monkey.
Justin loves the animals, so we’re hoping he does everything he can to see that his latest creature pal is taken care of! Despite how adorable and small they are, Capuchin monkeys are not domesticated animals, and taking one in as a pet is a serious commitment that requires a lot of time, research, and preparation!
We hope this monkey gets free soon, too, as such animals do not do well in caged environments. Confinement can make them aggressive and emotionally disturbed!
Oh, Justin. What’s next for you? We probably won’t have to wait long to find out!
