'Teen Mom 2' canceled? Producer says not so fast

Teen Mom 2” fans can breathe a sigh of relief as there is still a little bit of hope for the MTV show. According to a new report released by Teen Mom News on April 16, producer Morgan J. Freeman spoke out and insists that a final decision has not been made just yet.

So, what does that mean? Well, it simply means that the network hasn’t decided whether or not to film and air a fifth season of the show. Even though the producer says a decision has not yet been made, it seems unlikely that the show will be renewed. Many of the girls have stated that they are ready to move on with their lives, most notably Kailyn Lowry, who is reportedly expecting her second child and ready to start her life with her husband. In fact, it was Kailyn Lowry who said the show had not yet been picked up for a fifth season.

If the show were to go on, they would need to start filming fast or else face having the fifth season far behind the fourth. That is one of the biggest complaints from “Teen Mom 2” fans, too. They dislike the fact that everything they see on television happened several months (and in some cases over a year) prior to the airing. It is understandable that the show can’t be filmed and then aired within a matter of days, but the time gap has become too much for some fans.

While a fifth season may not happen, it would be nice to do a sort of “wrap up” season with the girls. Everyone has changed so much since their “16 And Pregnant” days and it would be a good way to say good-bye.

Leah Messer-Calvert is happily living in West Virginia with her husband, Jeremy Calvert, the twins, and their new daughter, Adalynn. She works at a tanning salon and is very happy. Of course, fans would love the opportunity to see Ali and Aleeah all grown up and to meet Adalynn.

As mentioned above, Kailyn Lowry is married to Javi Marroquin and the two are reportedly expecting a baby together. They are now getting ready to move out of Pennsylvania and to Javi’s first assignment. It is easy to see why Kailyn Lowry wants to be done with the reality show.

Not much has changed with Chelsea Houska. She is still finishing up beauty school and recently found out that Aubree will have a little sibling. No, Chelsea isn’t pregnant, but Adam’s girlfriend, Taylor is expecting a baby. With so much drama between Chelsea and Adam already, it seems unlikely she would want to have that played out on “Teen Mom 2” (although MTV would likely love it.)

Then, there is Jenelle Evans. Rumor has it her antics are the main reason for the rumored cancelation in the first place. Although she isn’t in jail like Amber Portwood, many feel she has made a joke out of being a teen mom and is the reason that the show should no longer be on the air.

Overall, even though a decision hasn’t been made to continue or end the show, fans don’t have much hope that the network will bring it back. Hopefully, though, they do continue to keep fans updated with the girls!

I love teen mom 2 but it just seems to be getting boring now. I think they should call it quits.

I think the girls should move on.

I'm sure that at this point all of girls are ready to move on with their lives without a camera filming their every waking moment.  I'm sadden by the thought because I like watching the babies grow and hit milestones and seeing how much the moms have grown and seeing how their perspectives have changed since being pregnant.  I do think that they should have some type of wrap up show instead of just abruptly ending it.

I think that the reason it is getting boring is because of the time lapse in when it is filmed and when it is aired...we most likely know what has already happened! I would like to see a yearly update on all of the Teen Moms...just to see the progress of everyone!

I think a yearly update show is a good idea!
