An "American Horror Story" writer, Douglas Petrie, confirmed a few Season 4 details on the most recent Nerdist Writers Panel podcast.

"We just started working on Season 4 of 'American Horror Story,' which is completely different than anything we've done before," says Petrie, though he adds that they don't have anything concrete yet except the setting.

"We will find [our plan] and it's gonna be awesome. We don't know what we're doing," says Petrie, as he confirms that the setting is "carnival." "It does not have a title, but [carnival], that's the idea, very roughly that's the idea."

"AHS" creator Ryan Murphy previously confirmed that Season 4 will take place in the 1950sand that star Jessica Lange is working on her German accent. The fourth season will premiere in October 2014.
