Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart's 'Naked' Tape: Who's Who
The Major Players in the McSteamy 'Naked' Tape Scandal

Dr. McSteamy has gotten himself into one hot mess.
A tape starring "Grey's Anatomy" hot doc Eric Dane, his actress-wife Rebecca Gayheart and former Miss U.S. Teen Kari Ann Peniche appeared on Gawker.com Monday afternoon. While no one is seen performing sexual acts, the three are nude for the duration of the video.
Peniche appears to be the reason the tape leaked. According to Gawker.com, it surfaced as part of an official investigation by LAPD detectives of the ex-beauty queen. An LAPD representative told ABCNews.com police are waiting to speak to the detectives who obtained the tape to determine the nature of the investigation.
In the video clip, edited down from its original 12-minute length, Peniche, Dane and Gayheart prance naked around Peniche's Los Angeles apartment, discuss their potential porn names and lounge in a hottub.
"My alter-ego name is Peter," Dane says, attempting to come up with an adult-film moniker. "My dog growing up was called Cocaine, and I lived on Manor Drive, so I'm Cocaine Manor."
At one point, Peniche is seen reading off a credit card number into a phone.
Through it all, Dane, Peniche and Gayheart appear to be intoxicated. Midway through the clip, Gayheart says she has to lie down because she's "so high."
Marty Singer, who represents Dane and Gayheart, told TMZ.com Monday that he will sue anyone who publishes the "private, confidential tape," adding that "from what I've seen, it's a naked tape, not a tape."
Singer did not immediately respond to ABCNews.com's requests for comment.
Naked tape or no, whatever it is -- the video raises questions about all three parties and how they ended up in this situation. Below, a look at the major players in Hollywood's latest sex tape scandal:
Eric Dane
Dane, 36, is best known for playing Dr. Mark Sloan, dubbed Dr. McSteamy for his bad boy good looks, on ABC's "Grey's Anatomy." Prior to scoring that breakout role, he acted in small parts on series including "Saved by the Bell," "Roseanne," and "Married With Children." In real life, Dane married Gayheart in 2004 and, in February, he told Ellen DeGeneres that the two were working on having children.
Dane has clashed with the celebrity gossip machine before. In 2008, after telling OK! magazine he had malignant tissue removed from his lip, the magazine and other media outlets reported that he had skin cancer. Dane lashed out at OK! via his representatives, asserting he did not have cancer and calling the story innacurate.
Rebecca Gayheart
The sex tape marks Gayheart's most high-profile part in years. The 38-year-old actress broke onto the screen hawking Noxema skin care in the early 1990s. She had a recurring role as Antonia Marchette in "Beverly Hills, 90210" after that, along with parts in a handful of movies. Recently, Gayheart appeared in an episode of "Ugly Betty." She now stars in the Broadway comedy "Boeing-Boeing."
Although she hasn't had many major roles, Gayheart has been involved in a multitude of headline-making scandals. In 2001, Gayheart struck and fatally injured a 9-year-old boy while driving in Los Angeles. Gayheart was charged with vehicular manslaughter, to which she pleaded no contest. She was sentenced to three years' probation, a one-year suspension of her license, a $2,800 fine and 750 hours of community service. The victim's family also filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Gayheart, which was settled out of court. Its terms were not disclosed.
Earlier this year, The National Enquirer printed a 2003 photo of Gayheart that looks like a snapshot from the just-leaked sex tape. In it, Gayheart sits naked in a bathtub with an unidentified woman, holding what appears to be a crack pipe.
Kari Ann Peniche
Peniche, 25, won the title of Miss United States Teen in 2002, but her place in the pageant world didn't last for long. In 2004, the Oregon native was stripped of her title for posing nude in Playboy magazine. She went on to appear in a handful of cable shows and a Pauly Shore movie. In 2006, Peniche got engaged to then 18-year-old singer Aaron Carter, the younger brother of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. Their engagement ended five days later.
Peniche opened up about her past to Steppin' Out magazine in 2008, revealing that she was raped as a teenage model and beauty queen and physically abused by an ex-boyfriend.
Earlier this year, Peniche signed on to participate in VH1's "Celebrity Rehab: Sex Addiction" with Dr. Drew Pinsky. Like her run in the pageant circuit, her reality-TV stint also didn't last. In April, RadarOnline reported that Peniche was kicked off the show for verbally abusing the show's cast and crew.
