Suzanne Somers has issued an extraordinary public apology for saying that Patrick Swayze was "poisoned" by chemotherapy.

The Three's Company actress was quoted as saying: "They took this beautiful man and they basically put poison in him."  Her comment caused a national uproar.

But now Somers writes on her blog: "I sincerely apologize if my comment has caused any additional pain to his family during this difficult time.  I send my deepest condolences for their loss."  Somers explained that she made the controversial comment to a columnist at the Toronto Film Festival "in a casual conversation at a private party (with someone who never identified himself as a reporter)...I was asked about this beloved actor.  It was never my intention to make an official statement about his passing."

Another person in Hollywood who we shouldn't be offended by anything they say. They are celebrities! That means they are pretty to look at.... it doesn't mean they are the brightest crayons in the box.

That being said, what a dumb thing to say.... I do feel bad that she got "dished" whithout her knowledge... still....

RIP Patrick Swayze

Celebs should know its one thing to think something but another to say it.If you want to to get slammed  then say it,ecspecially when it comes to something like this.

Patrick's family and friends are still grieving.  She should've kept her big mouth shut and btw..Whoopi Goldberg mentioned on The View that Patrick did try other treatments and nothing worked.

You should have more class Suzanne.

She has always come off to me as an incredibly insensitive person. I've never liked her. Maybe she should consider all of the "poison" she puts in her own body from all of the plastic surgery she has had.

I'm not so sure she's had a lot of plastic surgery. Look at the photo she can actually move her face and smile she has lines around her eyes and around her chin and neck. When was this comment made I am a huge Patrick Swayze ever since the 5th grade when North and South came out and in all honesty chemo was putting poison into a beautiful man, but if you see his last photo shoot on August 8th he was still beautiful.

Yes, that was such an insensitive comment she made and I was happy that Whoopee brought that up during The View! While it's good that she apologized, still, saying what she said tells me a whole lot about her character and how out-of-it she really is!

Basically, she was called on her thoughtless comment!

Suzanne, you will always be Chrissy to me;  just plain stupid! wink mini
