Have you ever been sexually harassed? (Includes poll)

When I was a teenager, I worked as an office aide in my junior high school for one of the administrators.  He was nice enough, but used to pat me on the butt and was overly touchy-feeling.  I still remember how awkward that was.

I realize as an adult that I probably experienced sexual harassment from that man.  At the time, though, I just figured that was how things were.  I developed early and had grown used to men staring at me and yelling from cars while I walked down the road.

Anyway, I was thinking about this the other day and wondered how many others experienced sexual harassment.   (Not rape, but harassment.)

I was going to say no to this but then remembered an incident that happened to me when I was just out of High School and working 3 rd shift. It was a weekend so I was off and partying in a bar when the owner of the company I worked for, comes in. He was alone, and we all new his wife was sick. Well he started getting all buddy buddy with me and my GF's. But soon he kinda felt our resentment and then left. We left shortly after and as I was heading to my car, he comes up from behind me and says he can't get his car to start and would I mind running him down the road to work and dropping him off.

So I said ok. Well he no sooner got in my car and he started to kiss me. Oh I just want to thank you, he says! Well I took my keys and left. I didn't dare go back out to my car but finally the bartender walked me out.

I saw him at work from time to time and he never said a thing to me. Didn't act any differently so I chalked it up to his being drunk and lonely. I was naive. I was young.

Looking back I think if I had driven him to work he may have forced himself on me. But I guess I'll never know! Thank God!

In my teens I believe that I was gullible and naive.  I just didn't understand.  But one of my co workers used to constantly pinch me on the butt.  My Supervisor (who was also my Uncle) used to harrass me by calling sordid sexual names in front of my co workers.  I used to get so upset and when I would tell him to stop he wouldn't... maybe TMI but he used to call me "penis licker" and other really sordid names.

In the end, when I finally woke up and realized that what he was doing was wrong - I reported his ass to the sexual discrimination and harrassment tribunal.  He lost his job.  Because of that, I copped shit constantly from my Aunty.

Yes, sadly more than once. But the one time I will post about.

I was one of those annoying vaccum sales persons who goes door to door. My boss was male & there was only 3 females (including myself) who worked there. 1 day the other 2 females stayed at the store for some training. I went out with a total of 4 males. They all said crap but my boss crossed the line. I forget exactly what it was he said I just remember that I said "there's a fine line between joking & sexual harrasement". I quit over this situation.
