becoming a teachers aide

i volunteer at my sons preschool. this will be the second year in a row with the same teacher and today she suggested that i become a teachers aide, she said she would e-mail the head of the school district to see what i have to do. but in the mean time i was wondering if anyone on here knew what the educational requirements were. she said most of the time the aides start out as roaming aides and end up working with one teacher. it made me feel good. she has been a preschool teacher for 30 years and she said i would be really good at being an aide. but anyways if anyone knows anything would be helpful.

I think the requirements are based on what state you are in.  In Washington state, you have to have an AA degree, and in some districts (like mine) they have an equivalency test you can take.
