  • Breastfeeding moms use bottles too.  Well, some do.  :)

I formula fed, but I don't feel the need to explain why.  It's the way it had to be and feeding my child was what was/is best for them.

  • Heres my little vent..

I have been both a FFing and BFing mom...and if I had to pick one thing to be proud of it would be the BFing.

It seems funny to me to be proud of something that takes SOOO little work.  I mean how HARD is bottlefeeding?? Seriously?  Be proud of being a good mom, be proud of what kind of mom you are but for bottlefeeding...seems silly to me.

Why be proud of something like that..its like me being proud of cooking my kids dinner...its either that or they starve so why be proud of it?  Make NO sense to me, bash away people bash away but I bet OP could find something to be proud of besides something that take little to no work on her part.

    btw

heres the definition of pride and why I have an issue with this

satisfaction with your (or another's) achievements; "he takes pride in his son's success"

I don't care how you feed your child as long as you feed him, but bottlefeeding is not an accomplisment unless you child was a micropreemie and could not suck or had a cleft palette at birth and couldn't suck.

  • I know that. But most breastfeeding moms don't know what is in the bottles. They just assume its formula.

At any rate. I bottle fed and no one will tell me im a bad mom for doing so.

  • well both moms have to get up and feed their babies.. so it can be hard. she never said she used formula. she said bottle fed. as another poster said, bf moms use bottles too.

  • Why does there have to be this "thing" between breast feeders and bottle feeders? I just don't get it. We all have our reasons why we did what we did. I did both and I don't think it is right for the debates that get started with posts like this. You are egging them on with the "no breast feeding pics" bit.  This issue has been beat to death. You have the opinion you have, they have the opinion they have.

Everybody get over it!!!! Go start this on a debate board, it has been beat to death here. WIth a title like "I am proud" many people will open this only to be looped back into a new fight starting..

  • I'm proud of it because it kept my kids alive.  When breastfeeding wouldn't have.

Also, with breastfeeding, don't you just sit there pick up the baby and attach?  With bottle feeding, you get up (even in the middle of the night) make the bottle, while the baby is crying, sit down, adjust so you're both comfortable and then feed.  Then you have to get up, put the baby down (sleep or otherwise), wash every part of the bottle and make sure it's clean before you can use it again.

Both sides have their pros and cons.  Some women don't have a choice.
