I am making this post out of pure desperation, I'm going to be blunt. I moved to Lackawanna County last year & have yet to meet any decent mommies. I had one mom friend who I didn't even like, but loved her daughter & my son loved her, too. So I tolerated her, until she moved a couple months ago. I meet lots of moms at the park & around town, but none of them are anyone that I would want to be around, especially for my son to be around. I'm just looking for someone who is NORMAL & has kids around my son's age (almost 2.5). I am seriously lacking in the friend department since my son was born, & he really needs some buddies to hang out with during the long winter ahead.
Anyone, ANYONE live in Lackawanna County, PA??
I'm not exactly sure where Lackawanna county is(is that in northern PA?) I'm in berks county, 45 mins east of Harrisburg. I understand what you're saying. I'm always looking for friends close by. I have 3 children, ages 6, 3 and 8mons. If I'm close to you, feel free to add me and we can get to know each other. If not, there's alot of groups on here with moms from PA. You might find someone close to you in one of them.
Tioga County Currently. May be moving to Bradford County in the next few weeks. I have 6 children, ages 7 yrs, 6 yrs, 3 yrs, 3 yrs, 2 yrs, and 10 months.
Which is a bit closer than Tioga.

Lackawanna County is in Northeastern PA, about 20 min from Scranton. Doesn't sound like we're close, what a shame! I belong to several PA groups on here & haven't met anyone in my area, except for one who I guess lives like 5 mins away but never showed up for our playdate. Nice, right?

I'm having the same problem with friends as you are. My kids (5 and 3 years old) have made some pretty good friends with the older kids (11 and 8 years old) across the street, but I have yet to make any friends since we moved here from NH 5 years ago.
That's so funny, because my 2 y/o son has made friends with our 8 y/o neighbor & her friend of the same age. She's a great kid, but her mom is old enough to be MY mom (even has a daughter not much younger than me), so it's not like we can have playdates with the age differences between everyone, you know? The girls is always welcome to come over & play, but she's not exactly what I'M looking for in a friend, LOL.
I used to make friends so easily, who knew that it would be so rough once kids were in the picture!

Haha, I don't really know where anywhere is, either. I barely even know my way around this area! I lived in NY until I was 19, & then in Honesdale, PA until I was almost 22, & now I'm 23 in Vandling/Forest City.
