I just have to vent here!  Like just about everyone in this crappy economy we are struggling big time.  And now I find out this.  My isurance is going up, again! How can health insurance companies can rape us like this! It is time to renew and Blue Cross raised our plan by $300 a month! And the plan sucks! I am so upset and not sure how we are gonna be able to afford it! $1200 a month for insurance is insane! Especially for a crappy plan with a $1000 deductable! Why are these blood suckers aloud to do this people!!!!!

Thanks for listing to my rant!  I am just so frusterated and worried about it.

That is why I think the government is wasting time looking into universal healthcare instead of looking into putting caps on what insurance companies can charge.   Then once they do that they need to set caps on deductibles and copays.   This way insurance would be more affordable and quality of healthcare wouldn't suffer.

I'm sorry, I know exactly what you are going through. They just renewed my husbands policy at work also and it went up so much that we had to cancel it because after deducting the premiums he wouldn't even be bringing home enough to live on.

I feel your pain. we had to drop my Ins. and put the kids on healthy families because our ins just for me and our kids coast more then our mortgage every month. My hubbies job pays for his thank God. So I go with out so we can pay our mortgage.I wish the government would regulate how much they can charge.

I agree with you 100%.  I absolutely hate insurance companies.  They are the biggest crooks around.  They are always taking more and looking for ways to pay out less for claims.  I don't mind paying for health care for my family, but I don't like being taken advantage of by ins. comapnies.

Thanks! Yeah, well we don't have that option.  We live in MA and you have to have insurance or else you get a BIG fine taken out of your tax return! Sucks big time!

That is awful!! Insurance and now lack there of have always been such a stress factor for us. It's ridiculous. I didn't know that every state had different regulations about insurance??

Yea that is insane. I don't get it.  Right now DH and I have seperate insurance. His insurance is ALOT better than mine. But to put me on his insurance will be almost 400$ extra a month. And when the baby is born to put her on his insurance it will be about 200$ a month. Its robbery pure and simple.  I hope something works out for you!

I was gonna say that. I live in MA also.  For a houshold of 4, you can get taxed anywhere from $33,000 a year to $66,000 a year. It's awful how they make it mandatory you have to have it. Yet make it so hard to afford it.
