I need help. My dad is visiting for Christmas, and I need to get him something ($50-$100 range).
Problem is, he already has everything. He's very financially comfortable, and so things from Walmart or similar stores would piss him off as they're lesser quality.
I don't mind spending the money or getting the better quality item, because he does reciprocate. And I appreciate the mindset...he'd rather not have some crap that will break or fall apart under normal use.
Anyhow, I can't get him anything bulky because he'll need to take it on the plane with him. A gift card feels silly and thoughtless.
So anyway...about him...
He's 59 years old.
Enjoys strategy-based games on his PlayStation 3, but also has a Netflix subscription so that he can get whatever games and send them back when he "beats" them.
Has a ridiculously huge fish tank that he's invested quite a bit in.
He's a TV lover.
Likes/appreciates personalized stuff (last year, we bought him a digital picture frame).
Enjoys photography, has a Nikon D3000.
Lives in Minnesota. Where it's cold.
No wife/girlfriend/significant other.
DD is his first/only grandchild.
Not sportsy, does quality engineering at work.
