So, turkey and everything was done earlier than planned, which was great. We were all ready and dressed and got to my sisters on time. Everyone loved the turkey and the sweet potato pie was the BOMB!! But my pecan pie didn't set. Well, we get ready to leave, and we put the turkey inside a garbage, so in case it leaked, it wouldn't getting on the seat of the car. And we put the pies in the back, too. Well, before we left, we had to move some stuff around, and the pecan pie filling (pure syrup) had poured out into the seat. Well, we cleaned that up, and my husband moved the turkey over, which ripped a whole in the bag adn the turkey leaked all over my car seat. OMG!! So, now the car smells like super sweet turkey....not the best smell...but for the most part, Thanksgiving was great! How was you guys'?
This year was fine but a few years ago we were transporting ham in a crock-pot. It was between my legs on the floor. We went around a sharp corner and it spilled all over the floor. My car had the smell for a good week.

1. Sink backed up in the Kitchen yesterday...had to call the plummer...
2. Furnace went out...needs a new "gas valvue" ..its getting down to 29 degrees tonight..(can't use it)
3. Oh...and my dh caught the towel on fire when he was pulling out his stuffing out of the oven....
(just minor lil things)
Thanksgiving at my house and I am cooking all day and so people coming 2-3 (SO I THOUGHT) and so like I said I am cooking all day and still in my PJ's (hair not combed) I am an easy going person though and so it is NOON people starting showing up-I sneak off will quick and just say oh you like my snoopy pj's I am going to get my clothes on now-MY HUSBAND SAID OH YEAH THEY WANTED TO COME EARLY-i WAS LIKE WELL WOULD PUT OF TOOK A BREAK FROM COOKING AND PUT CLOTHES ON AND COMB MY HAIR BUT OH WELL.
then everything was ready and mom said where's the gravy?-I said "oh shit" forgot to make it-we whipped it up real quick and it was all done.
Other than that it was PERFECT and yummy food!!
Thanksgiving went 100 percent smooth this year! ... I'm shocked to say the least.
Our dog did manage to rip the blinds off our biggest livingroom window though.... he got his head caught in the cord and freaked out. That was a mess. lol
Last year was worse though.... much much worse.
Im, Laura. I hope you learned that from my screen name. If not, well now you know. I live in Alaska. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a Snow Ninja. Although, my day job consists of standing outside in front of my igloo looking like Igloo Trash in my snow boots, seal skin tank top & short skirt and screaming profanities at my neighbors. I'm marvelous, I know. I have a daughter named Lorelai. I can only hope one day she is just like mommy. Her daddy is Chris and together we make one big family of Igloo trash. Be Jealous.
Oh My....poor little puppy!

My sil dropped the mashed potatoes when she was taking them out of the oven. We quickly scooped up what was on the oven door and bottom of the oven. We didn't eat the part that fell on the floor!
the water heater went out on Wednesday so we spent Wednesday and part of Thursday with no water.
DH spilled the sweet potato's with marshmallows all over the inside of the oven and some of the liquid ran down the outside and under the stove.
But dinner was delish, the kids did not fight like cats and dogs and NO In-Laws to ruin our day.

We went to BIL and were asked to bring apple pie and devil eggs. DH took care of the pie at work (he is a chef) and I was taking care of the devil eggs. Then at 11:30pm last night he "remembers" that we are supposed to bring a chocolate cream pie too. So I send him to the store to get the stuff I needed for that. Meanwhile I am otherwise distracted and DH takes the eggs off the stove. So while they cool, I make the other pie and then start peeling eggs... They aren't peeling very easily... Hmmm... So I cut one open and THEY ARE NOT DONE!!!!!! So by this time its 2am and I have to start boiling eggs all over again. Finally get done and in bed by 5am.
The best part... My BIL that requested the apple pie and devil eggs.... REFUSED to eat either one!!!! The eggs had a little bit of dill in them and the apple pie had nuts on top. LOL!!
