Are women being coerced into having abortions. If not,why would they be trying tp pass a bill to prevent it?
Bill would require Tennessee abortion clinics to post anti-coercion signs

NASHVILLE (AP) - A House committee has delayed a vote on legislation that would require abortion clinics in Tennessee to post anti-coercion signs.
The state House Health and Human Resources Committee on Tuesday decided to put off the vote for a week to give lawmakers more time to review the measure sponsored Rep. Susan Lynn, a Mt. Juliet Republican.
Any type of coercion to have an abortion is prohibited under current law.
Lynn said the sign would make it clear that "it's illegal for anyone to coerce them to have an abortion."
The companion bill is awaiting a vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

It's like the silly warning labels on things. A couple of people have a bad go-round and then they make a rule for everyone. I'm sure there have been women/young gals who have been co-erced....so the sign is to cover their own butts.
I don't think so and also, if we didn't have abortions how many more kids would we have in foster care, dead, or on welfare rolls in the welfare cycle?

I'm sure plenty of women are coerced, usually by the father or someone in their family. I'd have to see evidence to believe clinics were doing it. IF they are it's wrong and should be stopped.
Are you serious about the second question? Lawmakers make up issues all the time to make themselves look good or placate their constituents. Especially in election years. Doesn't mean it's a needed bill.

Thank God......it's Friday!!!
I agree with this. There is so much you have to do to stand up for your kids that if you can't say no to an abortion you don't want you probably are not going to make it as a mother.
Quoting Brandyh:my thought would be, if your not strong enough to stand up to pressure, your probably not meant for motherhood.
This!
It's not like they're dragging the women in by their hair and MAKING them have abortions. If they can be "convinced" that abortion is the best thing for them, than I guess they weren't going to be the best parents anyway
