hello ladies!  to all you moms that are at home most of the time, what do you do when you are at home?  when im not working im at home and i get fridays/saturdays off.  the only thing i do is sit here and watch tv or take my kids to the park.  VERY BORING.  do any of you girls have some interesting hobbies?  i have cross stitched before when i was younger but im not too interested in that anymore.  i have no real family where i live or friends so it gets pretty boring.  im trying to lose some more weight and i need something to keep me busy besides stuffing my face haha!

Well, summer is coming up so you can take the kids to the beach or lake or to a pool.. not sure where you live?  I am a SAHM and I do a lot of play dates, and I try to stay informed about any community events that might seem interesting to check out.

But, what I do for myself when I'm just sitting at home and bored is bead work. I make a lot of jewelry some of it I sell, but most of it is just things that I make for myself or gifts for other people. It makes holidays a lot easier for all the women in my life :-) If you are interested there are books and kits that are pretty cheap and easy start up.

I'm hoping to get a bigger office in my next home and I am going to try to get into card making. This however tends to be a little more expensive.....

I read.  A LOT!  We go to the library at least once a week. The kids(4 &7) and I both get books to read.  When it's nice outside(which here in Omaha was months ago) we go to the park, the kids ride their bikes.  In the summer, we swim.  We have an above ground pool and we use it almost everyday(except when the weather sucks, which is always these days, LOL).

Other than that, I love to cook.  I visit my sister and/or mom on Sundays when dh is working.  The kids hang out with their cousins.  I'm not a big play date scheduler.  I tend to have the kids go see if someone can play (2 sets of kids live a few houses away).

I've tried crafting, scrapbooking, sewing, and some other stuff and wasn't madly in love with it the way I am reading.  So while I'll still do it occasionally, I stick to what I REALLy like.

lol lots of ideas which are great suggestions.  i am into baking and cooking but like i said i want to lose 20 more lbs so im trying to stay away from the kitchen.  i think im going to spend my last day off researching some different things to do.  taking the kids to play dates/the park etc is fun with the kids but i want something to do for myself to keep me busy.  i love my kids but alone time is something i think we all need.

I scrapbook and scrapbook once a week with a group of ladies.  I joined 2 organizations, one is a newcomer group.  We have ladies day/nights out, lunches and meetings etc.  I have been president of that group for 3 years.  We allow anyone to join whether they are newcomers to the area, or not. We have a couples event once a month too so spouses know each other too.

The other is a group where we put on plays for local elementary kids.  That group I am VP of and we have meetings and during January and February is when we rehearse make the sets and do the plays.  Those months I am super busy.  I help with sets.  NOW, I just got on a dance theater board which dh thinks I am nuts.
