Some are calling it a surge.  Others say it's a storm.  Whatever you want to call it, know this: the Tea Party movement is headed to D.C. today to oppose health care reform.

A rally is being organized for today at the Cannon House Office Building with hopes of swaying Congress not to pass President Barack Obama's health care plan. According to the FreedomWorks Web site, the event is called "The People's Surge Against Obamacare 2.0."

At 9 a.m., they will "storm" the three House office buildings. The group is planning to meet at Cannon Building, and they will disperse from there. According to the site, the event is expected to last until 6 p.m.

The Heartland Institute said it is holding a rally "to kill Obamacare" at Taft Park at 10 a.m., with numerous speakers, including Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.).

All of this is just a build-up to a much bigger Tea Party event in D.C. next month.  A Tax Day Tea Party will be held April 15 at the Washington Monument from 7-10 p.m.

But if you're not into tea, elephants might be more to your liking.  Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey's elephant parade will stroll through Capitol Hill this afternoon.

It is so sad, that these people just don't seem to get it. The flashy hot button words that they use, are completely false. They are fighting against a Politician and a Political Party, not the health of their fellow Americans. It saddens me that many can't see that.

It's so easy to look down on the less fortunate, when you're not one of them. This is so not  a Political Affiliation issue. I wish the Party system would just disappear, so that we could get out of our own way.

People seem to forget that it is no longer just the slackers that are asking for help right now. So many people are out of work, and are currently uninsured for the very first time in their lives, and people are seriously fighting against making sure they get it? What about their children, the millions of uninsured children and babies, and unborn are we forgetting about right now? Just so that we can prove that our Political Party is right? It's insane, and ridiculous, and it just pisses me off!

Very well said. Seems what's best for the people means nothing, it's all about winning or at least beating the other side. Sad.

The only people that are going to see any immediate provisions are children Blonde. This bill will make sure that children are not denied insurance because of preexisting conditions. It will also allow parents to keep children on their insurance until they turn 26. The medicaid expansion will not even go into effect until 2016 or later. There can be a lot of changes once this initial bill passes. For once think about the children Blonde and not about your hatred for our President. This is about making their future healthier and better.

You want to hear something funny? Our INSURANCE COMPANY denied our oldest childs 9 month well visit as a pre-existing condition. So, in their eyes, the fact that he was born, was pre-existing. So ya, the Insurance companys are just wonderful! LMAO

The way I see it, isn't necessarily the way you see it. Or the way it is, or ought to be. What's more important, is that we're all looking for it, and a way to see it.
