I need some help. Does anyone know of any websites that will help u find a missing person? He's not missing exactly, he was actually adopted but the person who gave him up is looking for him. He knows he's adopted. There are a ton of websites out there but does anyone know of any that actually work? By the way this person is 18 now and we have tried searching Myspace, Facebook, etc with no luck.
It seems I got my story mixed up a bit. I always think she put him up for adoption but then I remembered that they didn't actually "adopt" him. She signed her rights over to a couple that was supposed to adopt him but never did. We do know he stayed with that couple but as far as she knows he was never adopted by them.
How would I got about finding the public records? We know the couples name who kept him and we know the last city he lived in.
This could be a touchy situation. Maybe the person doesn't want to be found or contacted. My thought is if that person wanted to be in contact with is birth parents....they would have already.
public records for sure, and its not necessarily true that he would want to find them. My husband's entire family was adopted and knew about it and never until recently wanted to even discover them. But also being 18 they may just be now learning and understanding their rights. Since they are theirs now and not previously.
Forgive my ignorance but what exactly are on public records? I know some things like criminal history, etc. But would my friend's son's address be on there if he still lived with the family who was supposed to adopt him? Would it say where he was employed, going to school, or if he joined the army, etc?
Her ex husband thought he saw their son and he was wearing dogtags with her son's name on them. It also had an academy's name on it, but when she called they said they didn't have anybody by his name at their academy.
http://www.veromi.net/ This isn't for missing people but it may help.
an academy can't release info about who is enrolled just like any other school. Public records would be found at the local library, usually in print form. Is this person going to just show up at their door if she gets the address? Or would she call and get consent from this person first? IMHO I would not just show up at someone's door without calling to confirm and get consent and set up a place to meet.
Oh, I'm sure she'd call first. She wouldn't just show up randomly at the house lol
