I (and the church) believe it [being gay] is a sin because it's not "natural"

Ok.. so.. someone said this in the other post and I was just curious.

What do you (anti-gay people) and the church consider "natural"?

I've never understood this argument.

There is so much documented evidence of homosexual behavior in animals (including sex, courtship, affection, pair bonding, parenting, etc) that Xians can no longer use the "we're the only species to ever behave in such a way so it's obviously a choice" excuse.

In fact, the animal kingdom is very diverse, sexually. Homosexuality, bisexuality, non-reproductive sex..

Same-sex behavior is a nearly universal phenomenon in the animal kingdom (http://www.physorg.com/news164376975.html)

So.. when you (anti-gay people) say, "it's not natural".. what exactly are you talking about? How do you define "natural"?

What's wrong with human being sexually attracted to the same sex....If God made them that way then how can it be wrong?

I've never said that, but I would assume they mean that male/female pairings is what's natural.  I don't know for sure though.

I don't have any issues with people being gay/in same-sex relationships. The only time I begin to have an issue with it is when homosexuality is taught during sex-ed in schools.

Yes.. but what, exactly, makes that particular pairing "natural" and not others? What is she (and others) using to define the word "natural"?

I would say from the Adam & Eve story.  God made man and women to be together and have children.  Not man/man and woman/woman.  If you don't believe in that sort of thing, then I can see how you would think that isn't the case.

Again, not speaking for myself, just the general notion.  I don't even know if that's correct, I'm just assuming that it's what they would say.

I'm the one who said this (thanks for not using my name (no sarcasm)). We are humans not animals. (I know mammals blah blah). Anatomically man and woman were made for each other. A man on man sexual intercourse is not natural (the anus is supposed to be exit only). The reason a man is a man and a woman is a woman is to reproduce. Reproduction is "normal".

Not wanting to start anything, just curious as to why.

FTR, I am not anti-gay before you all start bashing. I do not agree with it, but I'm not against it. If I was the the deciding vote in my state to make gay marriage legal or not I would vote yes (to make it legal) because I love people for them not their sexual orientation.

(Kind of like I don't agree with abortion but I'm pro-choice).

So.. you would rather pretend that homosexuality doesn't exist?

What is wrong with teaching our children facts about life?

What is wrong with teaching our children about all aspects of sexuality and equality?

What exactly do you think teachers are saying to their students about homosexuality?? Haha!

My sex ed teacher (back in 1996) said something like - Attraction isn't defined in one way. It's very personal. Sexual and emotional attractions vary from person to person.. animal to animal. The important thing is to be true to yourself.

What are you so afraid of?
