CAPRI SUN?? I THINK NOT!!

So here are some links that happen to due with nasty things found inside KRAFT capri sun pouches, found by another mother/ friend of mine on face book.

A little back ground on the issue. On memorial day my friend melissa went to give her DD who is 3 a capri sun and found it leaking a little bit, so her DH went to drain it in the sink when he felt something hard inside so he cut open the capri sun and found a large "thing" inside. She called the store to let them know and they pulled all capri suns off their shelfs, she also called kraft head quarters. KRAFT IS NOT RECALLING CAPRI SUNS, OR GIVING OUT A PRESS RELEASE.

KRAFT IS SAYING IT IS MOLD AND ITS NO BIG DEAL.

Melissa has also sent a sample of this "thing" to her own independent lab for testing.

I think it's funny. I've stocked shelves before and had bottles of juice and gatorade that were't sealed and had stuff inside that looked just like that. It probably is mold. The store shouldn't have pulled anything off the shelves and Kraft won't issue a recall unless they actually find something and have reason to believe there's contamination to a whole batch.

It looks like hardened (former)molten plastic.

It is mold and looks very typical of molds of that nature.  Shit happens and containers get broken open or have air leaks on occasion.  Machines, companies, people, etc... are not perfect.  That is why we are all taught from the very beginning to not eat or drink from containers that have been damaged. When they are damaged, bacteria gets in and things grow.  It is just common sense.  All she had to do was throw it in the trash or take the box back to the store and exchange it for another.
