I was just thinking.... for the month we spend about $300 for food to feed the 5 of us.(we get a link card) Also we go to our local food pantry to help us out.

How much do you spend a month to feed your family? Do you get local or goverment assistance?

We spend about 700 for 3 kids and two adults
We do not get assistance but years ago as a single mom I did and I got like 500 a month for two kids and a pregnant me.....
I know it's possible to make it on what you say you spend but I grew up so poor and often hungry so I do not cut corners when it comes to food

I am on food stamps, I get $200 a month.  It feeds me very well and I usually have money left over at the end of the month.  My daughter doesn't eat what I purchase enough for her to qualify as part of my household.  She doesn't care for a lot of what I purchase for one thing and she usually eats out or gets her meals at work.

We get Food Stamps.   $536 a month for 2 Adults and a kid.   It doesn't last us, we're always short for the last week or so.  Probably wouldn't happen if I didn't let DH carry the card in his wallet, he buys A LOT of junk foods - and lives on Red Bull.

That is why the card is in my wallet. Plus, I am usually the one to get milk, bread and eggs when we run out.

How is he getting Red Bull on food stamps I know that here foodstamps won't pay for "energy" drinks.

We spend about $70 a week for a family of 4 adults and one toddler so we spend about $280 a month.
We do not get any assistance.

This is my family, It's little and broken, but still good... Yeah... Still good.

We're a family of 5 and probably spend about $250 a week, and then little shops for a few things that may be forgotten.

We're not on any assistance.

I am a Canadian, breastfeeding (it IS best, there is nothing even close to that nutrition and bond), co sleeping, extended rear facing (if you don't rear face to the maximum of your seat, you're NOT doing all you can to protect your child), baby wearing, Non spanking (I want my kids to respect me, not fear me) ANTI- CIO, homemade baby food making, cloth diapering, organic (chemical free household!) recycling mama to THREE! My husband is my equal and best friend, not my master and I believe basic health care should be a human RIGHT, not a privilege.

No assistance, we spend anywhere from 200-300 per week, but includes paper products, meat market, and farmer's market
