Faulty Bird!!

We just found a bird in our front yard. It appeared to be badly injured as it couldn't fly or walk, so I got it into a spare cage, with food and water. No visible injuries. Possibly a baby pushed out of mom's nest...

Anyway, it isn't a hook bill (thankfully my dove eats the same kind of food our stray does), but I don't know what it is.

Please tell me what you think.

Loves like a Dove or a Pigion maybe?

Those are the two that came to my mind, but I'm terrible with bird species!

I also thought the same as the previous posters. Do you have a SPCA around you that you can take him to? If so that is probably what is best for the cute little guy.

I have an Indian Ringneck Dove, they look similar but he's either a different species or too young to have developed the ring. Either way, if/when he gets better, if he is too dependant on us feeding him, I will house him with my dove. She gets along with everyone! He's in my travel cage in my quiet, dark bedroom so he can relax. Poor thing was terrified. I couldn't leave him to the stray cats that wander around though.
