CIL came home drunk yet again last night. Broke my new table by just dropping his heavy watch on it. Its glass top and cracked now. DH wants him gone, I am torn because I hate him being drunk, but I like him a lot when he isnt. Its nice to have a friend here all the time to go out with. I never thought we would have this problem with a family member of DHs. Just a vent.

Thanks. I wish he would get his act together. The whole purpose of him coming here wasnt to party. It was to see if he liked it and start looking in to staying for good to support his family. He needs to apply for work permit because he told DH he wants to stay and run the store here when the new store opens next month that DH is going to run. If he doesnt, I have to work full time at this store! Not ok with me!

He needs to move out. Drinking would not be allowed in my house if he was that drunk!

yah that so would not fly in my home. What if your little girl had been in the room under the table plaing and the glass shattered on her? What if he had fallen on top of her? EXT EXT.

Kick him out imo. He is irresponsible and being that drunk puts your children in danger cuz he isn't capable of making good decisions.

i feel your pain.  my husband's uncle used to live with us & he had a bit of a drinking problem.  generally when he drank he did it elsewhere so the kids didn't see him, they love him, but one night hubby & his uncle were watching a game & drinking.  they got into a fight & ended up breaking our very old wooden coffee table, broke off a large piece along the length of it.  thankfully the kids were sleeping & didn't wake up. i was able to glue the piece back on but not smoothly.  i was p.o.'d but gave him another chance.  he moved in with his girlfriend shortly after, thankfully.

Yeah. DD loves him, calls him her brother. Hecomes home drunk after she is in bed. But still. Its not ok. And DH is going to start working much later. He doesnt trust him not to try something with me if he is drunk. And its a family thing. DH wont tell them about the drinking because it would be a huge deal, so we are going to look like the bad guys!
