We go on vacation april 6th.  Trying to get new passports for my dd's.  Well, the next Saturday appt. is when we are on vacation?  I guess I have no choice but to get her out of school.  My 20 yo got an appt. today and I just called an hour ago.  Weekday appts are plentiful.  The guy was rude as hell.  I hate calling govt. run offices, ugh.

The Government is incapable of running an office effectively.   Figures!

 good luck!  Dealing with any govt. office is a PITA.  Have you tried to get into social security lately?  You need dispensation from the Pope to get in there.

St Thomas.  You can get away with only a birth certificate but since the girls passports expired and dh and I have them its easier  IF we all have them.

Crazy. Will missing part of the day affect her attendance record at all?

It will count as a day missed, but she hasn't missed a day yet.  Who cares because she will only miss study halls at the end of the day anyway.

The postal office in the town next to ours does them. I'm not sure if they all do, but that might help with pulling your dd out of school too early. And I think walgreens does passports as well.
