Not to offend any dog lovers - but its this very reason why I will not get a big dog untill my kids are big enough to dominate them. I just don't trust them.

I'm originally from Pgh area and some of my family live VERY near there (elizabeth/McKeesport border area).

Saw that on the news last night and it was just disturbing and sad. But then of course there's what happened to the little girl who choked to death at school within the WPA area too.

Very sad. STUPID parents. You never ever leave a newborn unattended on the floor with a dog, let alone a 2 day old baby. What were they thinking? You introduce babies to the dogs a little at a time and never leave them alone with a big dog, EVER until they are big enough to fend for themselves.

It's not unlikely that the dog felt threatened by this new "thing" in the house, but s/he could also have been trying to play with it. Either way it's very sad and no, the mother shouldn't have left the baby alone, but my heart breaks for her.

That's soooooooo sad :0( that poor baby and those poor parents!! That mama has to be HEARTBROKEN...

I wonder why they didn't take all the dogs? Or why take two if only one dog did it??
