I have a laptop. Dh had both. I have used his ipad a little and I really do not like it. I don't like all touch screen. I am not a touch screen person. Give me a keyboard.

My husband has one and it's pretty awesome! I prefer typing on my laptop, but the picture quality on the iPad is awesome!

Ipad2 is expensive. Laptops are so much cheaper, at least most are.

I have a 1st generation iPad, and I have a laptop. IMO, I don't think an iPad can replace a laptop yet. The internet is more limited than what you get on a laptop. It's not just the lack of flash video. Some websites, like Hulu, recognize that you have a mobile device and require you to use an app instead, and sometimes content is limited compared to a laptop.

With the iPad color out, you can get a WiFi 16G iPad2 brand new for $400. My new ASUS laptop wasn't that much less than that. I don't think there is much of a price difference anymore.

I'm not crazy about the ipad. I'd prefer a laptop or a different tablet. I LOVE my Motorola Xoom.

I agree, they do not do everything a laptop can do.  Can't print from them, I don't think and there is other things they can't do.  I just like a keyboard.  Ipads are $400-$600.  They have come down in price since the new one.

I have no desire to buy an ipad, or any Apple products. They don't impress me.

If you need a laptop, an iPad is not a laptop replacement.  Which you should get really depends on what you want to do with it.
