Paying a couple friends to weed and to shape up my bushes and roses etc.  Have some all the way around the house and a large fenced in area with flowers that need weeded too.  Probably will take 2 people 20+ hours because we have a large house and different beds all around and near our road etc.  How much would you pay for this.  Its tax free money.  I say $10 an hour per person so $20 an hour for the 2 of them and if its 20 hours it would be $400.  Does it sound like over paying, under paying, just right?

That sounds reasonable.

Just curious because they have done work for me before and always , no matter what I pay he thinks its not enough.  I really need to cut ties and let him fend for himself really.  I feel I over pay on things and this time paid a fair wage for sure.  He wanted $600 actually and claims he worked 28 hours when my dd's KNOW he didn't.  I wasn't home this weekend but they were.  Even if he worked 28 hours that doesn't compute to $600.

1 mom liked this

call a few landscapers and ask them what they would charge for that work and then you can come up with a fair price that is being charged in your area

I think that is a reasonable rate, but I also agree with Stevei.  It can't hurt to call around and get an estimate of what it would cost for a professional to do it, then go from there.
