I work in child care and today I witnessed a child being abused... What should I do?

And that is the reason many day cares have started using cameras. Mine are older now and tell me everything, but I'd never leave an infant in a day care without cameras. Not happening.

A single smack for a misdeed? Sorry if someone hits my child, in any way shpe or form, I'm pressing charges.

If the child was really beaten up, then it becomes time to call the authorities. You have to use some discretion What you might think is abuse might be acceptable parenting to some one else. Those state authorities can make a mess of people's lives, so I wouldn't call them unless the situation was really serious.
