Antibiotics and menstration?

Can taking antibiotics mess with your menstration cycle? I was supposed to start Monday and I haven't started yet. I was taking an antibiotic for my strep throat. I wish I'd hurry and start so I can be done by next weekend. We're going to an anime convention and we'll be swimming in the pool at the hotel. I'd rather not be miserable the whole time.

I don't know if antibiotics mess with your cycle. However, antibiotics can interact with birth control. That's why your dr may say to use extra protection if your on bc and taking antibiotics, the meds make your bc less effective and you could wind up prego. Good luck!

Yeah, I don't take bc. We use condoms. BC messes with my hormones.

Being sick in general can cause your cycle to be off.

This! Honestly? Almost anything can make ur cycle to be off...sickness, stress, strenuous exercise, preggo, life events, etc.
