I'm not giving up my damn bed. My brother and his sil are coming down for my dd's 5th birthday party. They were going to bring my parents. (Who are completely flat broke and not working or doing anything to better themselves.) My parents were going to stay with us, which I'm fine with. However, they have an air mattress at home and they refuse to bring it. They don't want to deflat it and reflate it. (lazy). My mom asked if they could sleep in our bed. Excuse me...what?? And where the hell would we sleep? Plus my dad is a smoker and I'll be damned if he stinks up my room and my bed where I sleep every night. I know for a fact if we asked to sleep in their bed if we went to visit them she'd tell us hell no. I can't stand having to cater to them. I'm just ranting so please leave your hatefulness out of the post. So if they want to miss out on seeing us this year...oh flipping well. They need to stop being so damn lazy. Gah!

We always give my MIL our bed when she comes down to visit. Its only for a few days and its kinda shitty to expect older people to sleep on the floor.

I wouldn't let them sleep in my bed either. I really am surprised that they had the nerve to ask that of you.

Well, like I said...I don't want my room stinking like nicotine. My allergies are bad enough as it is. And they wouldn't be on the floor. They have an air mattress they refuse to bring. She sleeps on it at her house.

I wouldn't give up my bed either!  They can either bring the air mattress or sleep on the floor (a hotel would be even better).

Not all air mattresses are on the floor anymore. Some are raised really high.

When my dad visit me, he sleeps on our queen futon. There are typically other options besides giving up your bed.

If they already sleep on a air mattress, why can't they bring the damn thing. I wouldn't give up my bed if I had parents like that.

You Go Momma!! it takes no time at all to deflate and inflate an air mattress. Go buy one yourself if you have to... ?
