Cat found cut in half outside Port Orange home
Volusia County deputies investigate incident
PORT ORANGE, Fla. -
A pet cat was found cut in half Monday in Port Orange, a finding similar to the dismemberment of other animals in the same area about six months ago.
Workers found the dead animal outside the home of the cat's owner on Roscoe Turner Trail near the Spruce Creek Fly-in.
Teresa Monda, who owned the cat, said her pet, named Roscoe, usually roamed at night and returned home in the morning.
Monday said she began looking for Roscoe Monday morning when it didn't show up at it's usual time.
A worker broke the news to her a short time later.
Security guards in the area said there were reports of other dismembered cats about six months, but no arrests were made.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Volusia County deputies
