I think they're confusing it with liver and onions. I've never heard of veal being cooked with onions. The only time I've had veal it was veal parmigiana, and it's breaded and fried and then covered with red sauce. It's baby cow, and so it's like extremely tender beef. Nothing like a blood clot.
