That's what someone asked me this morning when they saw me taking DD out of her RF car seat. BTW, she's 16 months and approximately 30lbs. (or almost 30lbs.).
She's in the MyRide 65, which RF up to 40lbs. lol
My DH said I should have responded "shouldn't you be minding your own business at this point?"
The number of women with small children who don't know the proper mechanics of child seat safety is mind-boggling. BTW - I like how your hubby thinks ;)
Quoting LyTe684:I know. I told her no, that her chair allows up to 40lbs.
But you'd think she knows better since she has 4 kids.
Quoting Gabeys_Mommy:
She just might not have known any better.
I think this one goes to 40lbs as well. ( I just checked the evenflo website.)
Quoting Hanaas_mommy:my grandson is 22 months old and weighs 29 lbs and is still rearfacing. My daughter plans on keeping him this way until the limits of his seat (not sure what they are at the moment but he is in an Evenflo Triumph)
Probably not. I don't even remember ever sitting in a car seat as a kid. I think I saw my first booster seat when my younger cousin was a kid. He's like 20 now. lol
Quoting Barabell:I never heard of ERF until CM.
I'm not even sure if ERF was around when my son was a toddler (about 10 years ago--he's turning 13 within a month), but I'm also not sure how many people outside the CM community are aware of ERF.
LOL
Yes, it is. I used to get into arguments all the time because I wouldn't let anyone put my son in a car without his seat. I also wouldn't let anyone's kid in my car without a seat. Apparently I take things to the extreme.

I don't think it was around either then. My son wasn't quite 20 lbs at a year old but he was too long for an infant car seat. I remember asking his pediatrician what I could do since the rear facing infant seat was clearly a danger at his body length. She just said we had to go with what we thought was the safest option. I think if ERF was even an option then that she would have suggested it to me.
