Why is there always money for war but not for education?

hubby says it is because corporations do not make money off of education. I agree with hubby.

Because our government has been bought and paid for by incredibly wealthy businessmen who only care about getting even more money.

All the money is in different accounts (let's say) and they are non-transferable. So if there is $200,000 set aside for war, you can't just say, "Hey, we need that to pay teachers." You have to go into the education account to pay teachers.

It's set up this way because you wouldn't want anyone dipping into the education account for anything else so it's gotta be all or nothing. You can't dip into any other account for anything else.

Um, yea, you can, and the government does it all the time.  Do you know how many times Congress has raided Medicare and Social Security to pay for other things?  And the money has never been repaid, which is why those programs are in so much hot water now?  

In the corporate world, they call it "line item transfers".  Happens every day.
