Today is National Stop Bullying Day.

What are your thoughts on bullying in today's society?

Personally, I think the term bullying has been over used lately and it is detracting from how devastating REAL bullying can be.

I think as a parent, it's my job to teach my kids not to bully. In the same token, it's also my job to teach my kids how to deal with being bullied.

I agree with you also. My son has actually stood up to some bullies before when picking on another kid, but other times he has kept quiet because he didn't want to be bullied either. It's hard subject to teach, and there is a lot of grey area and differing opinions on how to respond to bullying.

So true, especially with social media like Facebook and CafeMom.

I think it's a little ironic that today is a Stop Bullying day is the same day that the anonymous feature came to this group. LOL

I agree. I see it between adults everyday.. It's sad. How can we teach our children that the behavior is not ok in one breath, and then behave that way ourselves. Parents must lead by example...
