Not normal, beneficial debt. I mean hard core, consumer debt that you aren't paying.

I am. I need to file bankruptcy but I don't even have enough money to do that. :-(

No we aren't. We've got a mortgage and a car payment but we afford those easily. We don't have credit card debt. We both have stable jobs that pay well. My husband did lose his job a few months ago but was employed again quickly so we didn't get behind on any bills. We tapped our savings a little buy made it through just fine.

DH has loans and credit card debt from before we were married and one credit care (medical) from after for something I needed that we're trying to pay off but many months it's a choice between credit card payment or food/gas/etc. But we're slowly getting there and hopefully we'll be out eventually..

No! Other than our home, we have 3 nice paid off vehicles... .1 major credit card, we pay it off when we use it. Put money into 3 savings account each month. Our student loans were paid off a few years ago. We were in debt for a few years, when our careers took off we started paying down everything and listening to DAVE RAMSEY! ! he is a awesome financial advisor.
