today was my ds 2nd bday. my dh and I had a little bday party for him, my bil and my parents and brothers and sisters were there. anyway , when it came time for the cake , my dh cuts the first slice of cake for my father. I was surprised and annoyed and then I just cut out ds a slice if cake after. first of all, the first slice of cake should go to our ds, who's the birthday boy! right?? I didn't say anything then cause didn't wanna cause a scene. but inside I was feeling disappointed. now, am I overreacting or taking it wrong? because I feel like I make sense about this. I just looked st my dh like he's just freiken dumb or I don't know. why would he do this ?

That really isn't something worth getting upset over. It's just cake.

Who cares one way or the other if a kid gets the first or last piece of cake? You are making a big deal over nothing.

LOL, stop it. Just stop. It's not worth it. Tell dh next birthday or next time do it yourself.

The only way I could see being that upset about it was if he either taunted your ds or gave everyone some and there was none for your ds... He's 2... He just sees his piece of cake and could care less about who got it first.

I can understand thinking it was not proper etiquette, but would let it go. Your son is two. He doesn't know. Now if he handed of the first slice of wedding cake I'd be pissed
