HI! Anyone out there attend any Meet-Up Groups in your area? Where I live in Kansas City, we have hundreds of them! I like to attend Meet-Ups not only for my home-based business, but for meeting new people and finding new friendships.
They are such a great concept, because you all start out with two things in common: 1) You have the same interest (i.e. a hiking group, or mom's group, or business group) and 2) You want to meet people with the same interest, so you are all there for the same reasons!
I have done women's outdoor recreation Meet-ups, a walk your dog in the park Meet-Up, and a couple business networking Meet-ups. Some work, some may not be your cup of tea, but what a great idea someone had for these groups that have swept the country!
What Meet-Ups do you have in your town, and which have you tried?

I've done a bunch of photography classes through meet-up.com
I've joined some other groups, but have not attended their meetings yet. I think they're awesome.
I've done a couple. They can be a lot of fun and a great way to meet people.
Just MOPS, Mothers of Preschoolers, I like it!
Haven't heard of any but I haven't really looked. Sounds like a great idea though.
I belonged to one for moms in the area, but I never could get to any of the events. I probably should have made it more a priority.

Maybe the Meet-Ups would be a good way to meet new friends for you. After all, everyone else is there to meet new friends also. You can google their website. Best of luck to you!!
