The Cafe The Cafe
I've been using Gerber Good Start Gentle for my five week old, but forgot to get more at the store today. I have Similac on hand that someone had given me not knowing I use Gerber. What do I do?

my best advise would be, since you do not have any other choice. Give the formula to the baby tonight but first thing in the morning i would go to the store

It's almost midnight here and I live in a small town. Store closes at 9 pm.

just keep an eye on the baby.  if your baby is more fussy than normal it could be gas.  I always had Mylcon gas drops on hand.  they worked great for all 4 of my boys.  But i would also just call the doctor and let her/him know

If the Gerber was just regular Gerber and not the Gentle then I would say its fine to use the Similac but because you use the Gentle its made differently then the Similac and it might be too much on the baby's system. Id ask someone to get you more Gerber.

Go and exchange it for what you use

I think it should be ok to use the Similac. If you are really worried get more Gerber and donate the Similac to a charity if it has not been opened.

I'm on my 5th kid.  We use Parents Choice formula when we have to buy it ourselves and my baby is fine.  Unless you have had problems with formula before you shouldn't really need to worry :)

Use it.  It's not going to hurt the baby.

Yeah cuz I'm a first time mo and wasn't sure if using a different formula was good or bad.
