It's not that I didn't want too but when I had my first son financially my ex and I couldn't afford to pay for the procedure it was around $240 so we never ended up doing it but we did everything we were told we were suppose to do. And again my youngest son when I had him I was a single mom and obviously couldn't afford the procedure and I did what my doctor said but both my boys I had a hard time pulling it back like it was stuck and I feared if I pulled too hard I'd hurt them but I kept trying each day and now their 4 and 3 and they aren't even able to do it themselves i knew something was wrong I show my doctor a year ago and they got into a specialist pretty fast and now I just got the call last week their operation is on march 22 now I wanna know how fast does a boy heal after this type of procedure ? My 4 year old goes to school so I just want to know when will he be okay to return back to school?

Even after surgery you will have to pull it back. Get a back bone this time.

I don't have any boys of my own but my SO had to have an emergency circumcision done when he was a kid. He said it took him a little over a week to start feeling normal again.

Momma,They DON"T need surgery! The foreskin is not suppose to retrack all the way till they are 5yrs old sometimes later! You should not be trying to pull it back at all. All that is necessary when cleaning there is to wipe off the outside and around it. they are perfectly fine if it does not pull back yet. Some little ones it will start to go back a little ways by the time they are your sons ages but, others not at all. Trust me neither of my boys were circumcised and they are perfectly fine.

You are an idiot! Unless its a very loose circumcision, there will be nothing to pull back. Not only that, youre never supposed to force the foreskin back. This has absolutely nothing to do with having a backbone. Its a mother having two children who need a medical procedure done, looking for support and answers.

Op- sorry you have to go through this. From what Ive heard, youll probably have about a week of it being rather sore. Id call your childs school and tell them he has to have a procedure done but arent quite sure on healing time and give them a window you think your son will be gone.

Best of luck!!

My neighbors boys had to be done at I think 5 and 7. It took the youngest longer to recoup I think a week. He talked about how much it hurt for 2 years.

Boys do not naturally become retractable until 5-puberty. That's how it is supposed to be. The person that instructed you to retract and clean was dead wrong. It would be like pulling the nail off the nail bed to clean under.

My son had this done and it took about 2 wks, it will look worse than it actually is. It helped him potty train though, because they had gauze around it and he didnt want it to get wet so he would wake up at night and run to the bathroom. He will be sore for awhile.
