Melasma Skin Discoloration

Soooo frustrated!!  Thanks to years of fun in the sun without sunscreen on my face, I now have melasma (big dark spots after sun exposure) on my forehead and upper lip.  I do not take hormonal treatments or any pharma meds.  The cause is definitely sun damage.

I'm wondering if anyone has this and how they treated it.  I researched a bunch of natural treatments but I would love some real life experience with the treatments and efficacy.  Thanks a bunch.  Muwaaaah!!!

My son has a cafe au lait spot covering half his face. We put bio-oil on it in the summer and it really helps it from getting darker.
