Has redbox always done this?

Did the movies rented at redbox always only allow you to watch only the theatrical version of the movie? We rented a movie tonight and it wouldn't let us watch the extended version or any of the special features. I don't remember other movies being like this. When we selected extended version it say something along the lines of this movie is for rental purposes only.

All the more reason to do netflix. Everytime I rent a movie from them, I can watch any version available on the disc.

I've never tried Redbox or Netflix so I really can't answer your question. Sorry.

Yes, Redbox has always "blocked those". You cannot watch features or anything else other than the movie. It doesn't bother me though. It's only a $1 rental & if I liked the movie that much I always end up buying it anyway & can watch that stuff on the bought dvd. lol
