Find people to donate stuff and sell tickets for it. Some churches are against raffles though.

Have a yard sale or get people to donate things like homemade quilts or cakes. If anyone owns a salon, you could see if they'd donate a "free hair style" or a manicure. Get the youth group to sell a ticket for lawn care for the rest of the summer.

We auctioned off dinners. Someone would donate an Italian dinner for 4 or 8 people. Maybe donate custom supplies for a kids party (we have a few Martha Stewart types). After services we had a silent auction of all the different parties and dinners offered. We raised about $5000.
The person doing the dinner just dropped off the meal already done on a night and time agreed on.

I used to do Youth Ministry and these are 2 that worked well for us.

1-  once every other month or so we hosted parent's night out.  The charge was $20 for 1st child $5 for each child after that in same family. (families had to registered members of parish).  Teens babysat, we had movies in one room, games in another and crafts in another.   Dinner was included, hot dogs or pizza depending on how we felt.  We were a small church, but it was not hard to make $900 in a night.

2- Christmas wrap.  Families bring Christmas gifts to church hall and we wrapped them.  a lot of parents would donate gift wrap because they would stock up on after Christmas sales, and anything we made was pure profit.  We also sold Christmas cookies on those nights.

Good luck!
